Semi-truck rolls onto its side, slides 150 feet, State Patrol says
A semi-truck rolled onto its side in Mason County Monday afternoon and slid for 150 feet, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The 62-year-old driver from Lake Forest Park was not injured, but he faces a reckless driving charge, troopers say.
About 2:50 p.m. Monday, the truck was headed north on state Route 3 in Mason County, approaching Dawn Drive.
As the truck headed into a curve, troopers say the driver turned into the southbound lane, then over-corrected his steering. The trailer began to fishtail, then the load inside the trailer shifted, causing the trailer to roll onto its side.
Troopers say the truck slid for 150 feet on its side and stopped in the southbound lanes. State Route 3 was partially closed for about an hour.
