On May 5, the Port of Olympia plans to reopen the Port Plaza and other areas of operations that have been closed to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

In addition to the Port Plaza, perhaps best known for its lookout tower, the port also plans to open:

  • Billy Frank Jr. Park & Trail: A portion of the trail will remain closed to curb pedestrian traffic within the Swantown Boatworks operational area. A detour for this section of the trail will be marked.
  • Swantown Boatworks: Swantown Boatworks will be operational, but the office will remain closed to the public. Paperwork processing will be handled through a dropbox outside the office.
  • Swantown Marina boat launch: Only one lane of the boat launch will be open.
  • Swantown boat launch parking: Visitor are asked to practice social distancing.
  • Swantown restrooms: The restrooms located near the boat launch will be reopened during daytime hours.
