More funds available for groups providing emergency food, shelter in Thurston County
United Way of Thurston County is accepting more grant applications from organizations that are offering emergency food and shelter in the area.
Non-profit, faith-based, or governmental organizations providing those supports in Thurston can apply for funds to assist with costs such as paying for utilities, supplies and equipment, meals, and rent, according to a news release from UWTC.
The grants were made possible by roughly $354,000 the United Way recently received from the federal government through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the CARES Act.
How to apply
Organizations can submit applications online at https://www.unitedway-thurston.org/emergency-food-and-shelter-program. The website also explains, in detail, what costs are eligible to be covered under funding guidelines.
The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. May 18.
