Traffic on state Route 3 was slowed for three hours Saturday after a man crossed the center turn lane in his vehicle and sideswiped a car, according to the Washington State Patrol.

About 1 p.m. Saturday, a 53-year-old Port Orchard man was headed north on SR3 in Kitsap County when troopers say he veered into southbound traffic and hit a Shelton man’s car, then crossed the southbound lanes and crashed into a power pole and tree in front of the Rodeo Drive-In movie theater.

The Port Orchard man was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and is under investigation for allegedly driving under the influence, Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said via Twitter on Saturday.

The Shelton man was injured, troopers say, but was treated and released at the scene.
