Thurston commission to hold virtual hearing on interim Emergency Housing Ordinance
The Thurston County Board of Commissioners is hosting a virtual public hearing Tuesday afternoon for citizens to comment on a proposed renewal of the county’s interim Emergency Housing Ordinance.
The hearing is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9 and will be live-streamed on Thurston County’s YouTube channel. Information needed to join Tuesday’s hearing on Zoom via video or phone is available on the commission’s meetings and agendas webpage.
The ordinance was adopted in June 2019 and allows for some requirements to be waived for emergency homeless encampments in unincorporated areas of the county during emergencies declared by the commission or Board of Health, according to the county’s news release.
