Olympia Farmers Market now open on Fridays
The Olympia Farmers Market is now open for business on Fridays.
The market added Fridays on June 5 as it is heading into phase 2 of Washington’s Safe Start plan following the economic shutdown to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The market now will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday through Sunday at its spot at the north end of Capitol Way.
The market typically is open Thursday through Sundays starting in April, but because of COVID-19, it opened initially just on Saturdays and Sundays, offering grocery items and no arts or crafts.
The additional day will allow for more vendors to sell their produce, crafts and art, market organizers said in a news release. The stalls offering prepared foods also will be open and serving to-go orders.
Masks must be worn in the close-quarters open-air market, in adherence with a Thurston County Health and Social Services’ directive. Vendors will be spaced to accommodate social distancing practices, the news release said.
