It should finally feel like summer by the time the solstice arrives Saturday
It might be cause for a little depression: You can see the summer solstice on the horizon of your week, and yet you are still wearing your winter raincoat.
But take heart. There is meteorological evidence that we will be in short sleeves and sandals by the time summer officially arrives at 2:43 p.m. Saturday. In fact, before that.
Tuesday will look a lot like Monday, with rain and highs working to reach the mid 60s by late afternoon. But the sun is expected to be out, at least partially, every day after that.
By Thursday and Friday, high temperatures will be in the mid 70s — and perhaps as importantly, the lows will leave the 40s behind, perhaps for the summer. Lows will be in the mid 50s starting Thursday.
Saturday is expected to be the warmest day of the week, with a high around 82 degrees. But highs in the mid 70s continue for the rest of the 10-day forecast, putting us at about average weather for this time of year.
