T-bone collision in Lacey sends two to the hospital
A T-bone collision in Lacey sent two people to the hospital on basic life support, yesterday.
At around 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday evening a vehicle was pulling out of a residential neighborhood on Montclair Drive. The vehicle was attempting to make a left turn onto College Street but did not yield the right of way to oncoming traffic and was subsequently T-boned by a car traveling south on College, said Lacey Police Sargent Shannon Barnes.
The resulting collision injured all three of the cars’ passengers, two of which had to be transported by Olympic Ambulances on basic life support to a local hospital. One of the victims that was transported to the hospital was a teenager that was riding as a passenger in the south bound vehicle, said Barnes.
The other victim who was turning out of Montclair Drive, was identified as an adult woman by Lacey Police. She was injured by her car’s airbag and transported the hospital, too.
Neither of the victims appeared to be seriously injured, according to Lacey Fire Departments Deputy Chief of Operations Jennifer Schmidt. Both are currently hospitalized and their conditions are unknown at this time.
The woman who was turning out of Montclair was issued a citation by Lacey Police for failure to yield right of way as a result of the incident. Both vehicles were towed away from the scene of the crash.
