Man, 2 children injured after car hits tree on side of state Route 8 near McCleary

A 28-year old Poulsbo man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after he drove into a tree near McCleary Thursday evening.

According to a press release from Washington State Patrol, two children in the car, ages 5 and 10, were taken to Providence St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia.

The man was driving east on state Route 8 around 7:30pm when his Saturn left the roadway, struck a tree, and ended up in the right shoulder.

No other vehicles were involved, but eastbound traffic was blocked for a little over an hour while the vehicle was removed.
