Beginning Friday, part of College Street in Lacey will be closed
College Street will be closed so the road can be paved and striped as part of the construction project that is adding a new roundabout at 22nd Avenue Southeast, the city of Lacey announced in a mailer sent to residents.
The final work is going to require some cooperation from commuters.
That’s because beginning Friday, July 31, and then continuing Aug. 3-6, College Street will be closed between 16th Avenue Southeast to 26th Avenue Southeast.
“Only residents that have no other access to their homes will be allowed to enter the construction area during this time, and long delays can be expected,” city officials said in the mailer.
Access also will be restricted to locals only between Lacey Boulevard to Mullen Road/37th Avenue Southeast. The city recommends that commuters use Ruddell Road for their north-south commute.
If the work needs to be rescheduled, rescheduling information can be found at https://www.ci.lacey.wa.us/city-government/city-departments/public-works/project-updates-and-alerts.
