Woman flown to Harborview after motorcycles crash near Hood Canal

A female passenger on a motorcycle was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Sunday after the bike she was on went off the road near Hood Canal, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Just before 1 p.m. Sunday, two motorcyclists, one of which had a female passenger, were headed north on U.S. Highway 101 at Hamma Hamma Road.

A vehicle in front of them slowed for a turning vehicle.

Troopers say one of the motorcycles crashed into that vehicle, while the other bike went off the road and into some trees, which caused the female passenger to fall off the motorcycle.

The 20-year-old Renton woman was airlifted to Harborview, according to the State Patrol.

The two motorcyclists — a 26-year-old man from Kirkland and a 27-year-old man from Kent — were not injured. The driver of the vehicle that slowed also was not hurt.

Troopers say the two motorcyclists were following the vehicle too closely.
