Planned closure of College Street has been postponed, Lacey announces
The paving and striping of a section of College Street, originally set to begin Friday, has been postponed a week, the city of Lacey announced.
The work, which will take place between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., has been rescheduled to Aug. 7 and Aug. 10-13.
Once the work begins, College Street will be closed between 16th Avenue Southeast to 26th Avenue Southeast, The Olympian reported this week.
“Only residents that have no other access to their homes will be allowed to enter the construction area during this time, and long delays can be expected,” city officials said in a mailer to residents.
Access also will be restricted to locals only between Lacey Boulevard to Mullen Road/37th Avenue Southeast. The city recommends that commuters use Ruddell Road for their north-south commute.
If the work needs to be rescheduled, rescheduling information can be found at http://www.ci.lacey.wa.us/city-government/city-departments/public-works/project-updates-and-alerts.
