The Washington State Patrol is asking the public to help identify a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run Saturday night near Elma.

The vehicle, according to the State Patrol, is a “lifted blue Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck with two bicycles in the back.”

About 10:50 p.m. Saturday, two vehicles, including the suspect’s vehicle, were headed east on state Route 8, near Elma.

Troopers said the suspect’s vehicle passed and pulled in front of the other vehicle, then slammed on the brakes. The other driver swerved to avoid a collision and crashed into a guardrail. The suspect’s vehicle fled east on SR8, according to the State Patrol.

The 25-year-old driver of the car that hit the guardrail was unhurt, according to the State Patrol, but his passenger, a 24-year-old Centralia woman, was injured and taken to Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma.

Anyone with information about the hit and run is asked to call Trooper M. Rabe at 360-473-0300, option “0.”
