Getting on I-5? Ramp meters to be activated in Olympia area, WSDOT says
Ramp meters, the traffic signal-like device that momentarily pauses traffic on on-ramps to relieve congestion, are set to be activated at four southbound I-5 interchanges in the Olympia and Lacey area, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The four southbound I-5 meters that will be activated by Aug. 18 are:
▪ Martin Way East
▪ Sleater-Kinney Road Southeast
▪ Pacific Avenue Southeast
▪ Henderson Boulevard Southeast
A fifth ramp meter will be activated toward the end of the year at the redesigned Marvin Road on-ramp to southbound I-5, according to WSDOT.
