The Port of Olympia is hosting two drive-in movies at its NorthPoint property this month.

“Our hope is to deliver a quality public access experience at the port, and to hopefully restore a small sense of normalcy for our guests,” Executive Director Sam Gibboney said in a statement. “We look forward to making this a Port of Olympia waterfront tradition in the coming years.”

The “movies at the marina” event will be shown on a 30-foot screen that will be set up in the Swantown Marina boat launch parking lot, which overlooks Budd Inlet. The parking lot is also next to the restaurant Hearthfire Grill and radio station KGY.

Concessions will be provided by Batdorf & Bronson Coffee and the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, according to the port. The movies are free, but reservations are required.

At 9 p.m. Aug. 14, the port will show the animated movie “Trolls” and at the same time Aug. 21, the port will show Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park.” Trolls is rated PG and Jurassic Park, PG-13.
