Shelton motorcyclist injured in wreck north of Hoodsport

A 21-year-old Shelton man was injured when he crashed his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 101 north of Hoodsport, according to the Washington State Patrol.

About 7:20 p.m. Sunday, the motorcyclist was headed north on 101 at Virginia Avenue. Meanwhile, another vehicle was stationary in the northbound shoulder of the highway, according to the State Patrol.

Troopers say the 26-year-old Shelton man driving the other vehicle made a prohibited U-turn from the shoulder and the motorcyclist crashed into him.

The 21-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to the State Patrol. The 26-year-old man was not injured.

Traffic was slowed in the area for three hours, according to the State Patrol.
