3 people airlifted after 2-vehicle crash in Mason County

Three people were flown to a Seattle hospital on Saturday after a two-vehicle crash in Mason County, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A 79-year-old Hoodsport man, a 30-year-old Bremerton man and a 21-year-old Bremerton woman were injured in the wreck, troopers say.

About 6:20 p.m. Saturday, the Bremerton man, who was driving a Honda Civic, was attempting a left turn onto southbound U.S. Highway 101 from Eagle Point Drive, about 6 miles north of Shelton.

Meanwhile, the 79-year-old Hoodsport man, driving a Dodge Charger, was headed north on the highway, approaching Eagle Point Drive.

Troopers say the Bremerton man failed to yield to the Hoodsport man and the two vehicles collided.

The 70-year-old female passenger in the Dodge Charger was treated for an injury and released, and a 2-year-old boy in the Honda Civic was not injured, according to the State Patrol.
