Lacey house burns down Friday night
Correction: A previous headline misidentified the date of the fire as Thursday. It happened on Friday, Aug 28. The Olympian regrets the error.
A home on the 8400 block of Pacific Avenue in Lacey burned down Friday evening.
The home was declared a total loss.
Just before 5:30 p.m., firefighters got a call about a home that was already covered in flames.
The home’s occupants all escaped safely, according to Lacey Fire Chief Steve Brooks. But the structure collapsed, spreading small brush fires into the surrounding fields, which were subsequently put out by Department of Natural Resources firefighters.
The fire departments of Olympia, East Olympia, South Bay, and Tumwater all assisted in the response.
