Shelton man airlifted after 85-year-old driver fails to yield, troopers say

A 23-year-old Shelton man was flown to a Seattle hospital after a wreck in Mason County Saturday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

About 12:40 p.m. Saturday, an 85-year-old Longview man was headed west on Agate Road, approaching state Route 3. The Shelton man was headed north on SR 3, approaching Agate Road.

Troopers say the Longview man failed to yield and pulled in front of the Shelton man, resulting in the collision.

The injured Shelton man was taken to Mason General Hospital, then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to the State Patrol.

The injured Longview man was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Bremerton.
