Thurston County COVID-19 cases jump by 17 on Thursday
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 jumped by 17 on Thursday, bringing Thurston County’s overall total to 1,169 cases, according to Thurston County Public Health and Social Services.
The new cases included a man and woman in their 70s, a man and woman in their 60s, five people in their 50s, three females between the ages of 10-19, and a boy 9 or younger, the data show.
Of the overall total, 967 people have recovered or are recovering, 92 have been hospitalized at some point during their illness and 17 have died.
One adult family home is still experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak, according to the county.

▪ Pierce County on Thursday announced 41 cases and one death, giving the county a total of 7,595 cases and 170 deaths. The death was a man in his 80s from southwest Pierce County who had underlying health conditions.
▪ Lewis County reported six new cases on Thursday for a total of 497 cases and four deaths.
▪ Grays Harbor County reported nine new cases for a total of 475 cases and six deaths as of Wednesday night.
▪ Mason County reported eight more cases on Thursday for a total of 415 cases and four deaths.

The state Department of Health on Thursday reported 536 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, giving the state 83,702 cases resulting in 2,081 deaths. State numbers have been reviewed and recalculated this week, resulting in some decreases.
In the U.S., the number of people who have had confirmed cases of the virus topped 7 million on Friday, and more than 203,000 have reportedly died as a result, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
Globally, 32.4 million cases have been reported and more than 985,000 have died, the data show.
