Percival Landing eatery opens, a pot shop expands, a west Olympia coffee shop opens
A number of new businesses have opened, expanded or have plans to expand in Thurston County as more people emerge from pandemic isolation.
Row, a downtown Olympia restaurant that is part of the Ramblin Restaurant Group, has opened at 208 State Ave. NW. The eatery with a patio opening onto Percival Landing is open 4-9 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
Forbidden Cannabis has opened its second location in Thurston County, the business announced on Facebook. The new location is at 1123 Sleater-Kinney Road SE. Forbidden also operates a location on Martin Way in Lacey, as well as stores in Carson and Okanogan, Washington, according to its website.
The new Forbidden Cannabis site on Sleater-Kinney used to be the location for a similar business called Elite. The Sleater-Kinney location is open 8 a.m. to 11:55 p.m. daily.
In west Olympia, a business called Samayra Coffee Co. has filled a storefront at 1600 Cooper Point Road SW, Suite 630, that used to be a Mud Bay Coffee Co. site. Samayra’s grand opening was May 24, according to its Facebook page.
“Samayra Coffee Co. is a locally owned coffee shop, offering small batch coffee,” the coffee shop’s website reads.
Happy Hour Olympia, offering “wines, bites and brews,” has filled the northwest corner of the Olympia Press Building at State and Capitol. The business is open 3-9 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, according to its website.
The Pilot Travel Center, a truck stop at 93rd Avenue Southwest, is exploring an expansion, according to city of Tumwater information. Representatives were set to meet with city officials on Thursday to get feedback on a proposed 8,500-square-foot light truck maintenance facility at the rear of the existing Pilot service station.
