Shopping center is filling up, artisans gather Saturday and is a new hotel in the works?

Olympia Square, a shopping center that flanks Pacific Avenue near Fones Road, continues to fill up with new tenants.

One of the latest, occupying several thousand square feet next to Albertsons, is Crunch Fitness, a new gym that is expected to open in January, according to recorded information.

The business operates several locations in Washington state. In addition to the forthcoming Olympia site, the gym also has locations in Bellevue, Lakewood, Silverdale and Vancouver, Washington, according to website information.

Although the Olympia store hasn’t opened, it is enrolling new members.

Other business happenings

The Marie, a bed and breakfast that operates out of a historic property in west Olympia, will host the Olympia Artisan Market from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, Marie owner Alicia Elliott said this week.

About 13 arts and crafts vendors will gather to sell mosaics, postcards, glassware, furniture, honey, wood tools and cutting boards, graphic art, and bath and body products.

Elliott called the event a good way to get a jump on holiday shopping. Cookies, hot cider, coffee and tea will be served, she said.

The Marie is at 123 Cushing St. NW, not far from the intersection at Harrison Avenue and Division Street. There is parking on Cushing Street, parking on the block itself and parking right behind the bed and breakfast, off the alley, Elliott said.
