Man is slashed with knife downtown, Olympia police say

A man was slashed with a knife in downtown Olympia Sunday morning, according to Olympia police.

The victim, who is thought to be in this 40s, was treated at an area hospital and released, Lt. Paul Lower said.

Police were dispatched about 11 a.m. Sunday to Fourth Avenue and Columbia Street, but then learned from the victim that he had been slashed with a knife near Capitol Way and Ninth Avenue.

The victim and suspect got into an argument at that address, which then turned into a physical fight. The suspect then pulled out a knife and slashed him across the side of the face, Lower said.

Police do not have a good suspect description, Lower said. Anyone with information is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
