10-week construction project near Providence St. Peter has been delayed, city says

A Puget Sound Energy natural gas project north of Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia has been delayed, city officials announced.

The work to replace a natural gas main is now set to begin Nov. 29, according to the city.

“PSE informed us that the project was delayed due to an emergency project that took precedence,” said Cecilia Olsen, engineering programs specialist for the city.

The construction is expected to disrupt traffic and parking on Lilly Road Northeast as well as Woodard Green Court, Cherry Blossom Drive, Windwood Place, Landau Avenue and Standhope Street.

Portions of the roads will be reduced to one lane and some curbside parking will be affected in the work area, according to the city.

Residents should expect truck and heavy machinery noise from 9-4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Some customers may have the gas service lines to their home replaced, requiring a short interruption of natural gas service, according to the city.

Anyone with questions can contact Olsen at 360-753-8181.
