Providence St. Peter Hospital relaxes visitation policy as number of COVID-19 patients falls
Providence Southwest Washington has relaxed visitation polices at its area hospitals in Olympia and Centralia, and elsewhere because the system is seeing fewer COVID-19 patients, the health organization announced this week.
Providence St. Peter and Centralia hospitals are now caring for fewer than 40 COVID-19 patients, down from a peak of more than 100 just a few months ago, according to a news release.
Due to the decreased numbers of COVID-19 patients and an ample supply of personal protective equipment, Providence Southwest has made the following changes:
▪ Expanded visitation for non-COVID-19 medical and surgical inpatients, allowing one visitor during normal visitation hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in some areas.
▪ All Providence Medical Group patients are permitted to have one support person accompany them to their visit.
▪ Expanded visitation in the critical care units.
▪ Expanded visitation for end-of-life patients.

Providence Southwest Washington also reminds residents that visitation policies are subject to change if there’s a spike in COVID-19 patients.
