Starting Jan. 6, residents will have the option to attend Lacey City Council meetings and work sessions in person or continue to watch them online, the city announced.

The council has met remotely for almost two years because of the pandemic.

Both meetings also have a new starting time of 6 p.m. instead of 4 p.m.

To attend the Lacey City Council meetings in person, attendees are required to wear a face covering at all times and practice social distancing. Due to these restrictions, in-person public attendance will be limited to 30 attendees at a time, according to the city.

One thing that hasn’t changed: Public comment is still restricted to items not on the agenda.

Regular City Council meetings take place on the first and third Thursdays of the month and work sessions are the second and fourth Thursdays of the month.
