Early morning fire in Yelm destroys businesses in strip mall

Fire engulfed businesses in a Yelm strip mall early Wednesday morning.

Southeast Thurston Fire responded to the structure fire in the 900 block of Yelm Avenue just after 1 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the strip mall behind Burger King, the fire had engulfed Happy Feet Spa and Red Nails. Other businesses at least partially involved include O’Reilly’s and Freedom Training.

No injuries were reported, according to KIRO TV.

According to a press release from Southeast Thurston Fire, the fire was declared out just after 5 a.m. The cause is still under investigation.
