Wreck hospitalizes Shelton man, other driver flees scene, State Patrol says

A driver hit another vehicle and fled the scene near Sanderson Field in Mason County late Wednesday evening. The crash injured a 57-year-old Shelton man.

The collision occurred about 9:30 p.m. on State Route 101 near West Dayton Airport Road, also known as State Route 102, according to a State Patrol press memo. When first responders arrived, they found two vehicles in the area but only one driver.

The Shelton man was driving a 2013 Ford F150 in the southbound lane of State Route 102 when the driver of a northbound 2006 Ford F150 crossed the centerline, according to the memo. The resulting collision totaled both vehicles.

Aid transported the Shelton man to Mason General Hospital with injuries, per the memo. State Patrol believes the driver of the other vehicle fled on foot in an unknown direction.
