Rainier Road has reopened south of Horizon Pointe, Lacey announces

Rainier Road at the train tracks, an area south of the Horizon Pointe neighborhood, reopened to traffic Saturday morning, the city of Lacey announced.

The road was closed Thursday after several inches of rain flooded the area and damaged the street. Road crews had to patch areas of the street before it reopened about 11:25 a.m. Saturday, according to the city.

Other weather-related news:

The Thurston County Waste and Recovery Center, plus drop boxes in Rainier and Rochester, closed Sunday “due to delays in container deliveries from flooding and an increase in use,” according to Thurston County Solid Waste.

The WARC will reopen 7 a.m. Monday.
