This downtown Olympia street will be reduced to one lane Wednesday and Thursday

Fourth Avenue East through downtown Olympia will be reduced to one lane at Cherry Street Southeast this week so that crews can replace a water valve, the city announced.

Work will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, then continue 10 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.

During construction, eastbound traffic will be restricted to the right lane on Fourth Avenue.

City officials say all customers who might be affected by water shutoffs during this time have been notified.
