This area of state Route 3 in Mason County will be reduced to 1 lane for 1 month

The state Department of Transportation is asking drivers who use State Route 3 near Shelton to plan for extra travel time.

That’s because beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18, utility crews will close one lane of SR 3 from milepost 3.5 to milepost 5.1 north of Shelton to repair utility lines.

Daytime drivers will experience alternating one-lane traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Feb. 18.

Utility crews will monitor backups and pull off the road as needed to allow those backups to clear, according to the state.
