Yelm man who was killed while logging has been identified

A Yelm man who was killed Jan. 10 in a logging accident has been identified, according to the Lewis County Coroner’s Office.

Christopher L. Braae, 31, died as a result of severe blunt force head injuries, the coroner announced Tuesday. The manner of death was accidental.

Originally thought to be a Cowlitz County accident, it turned out that Braae was logging in southeast Lewis County, Deputy Chief Coroner Dana Tucker said Tuesday.

Braae was struck by a piece of equipment, she said.

The state Department of Labor & Industries is now looking into the incident, The Daily News of Longview reports.

According to an L&I spokeswoman, the logger worked for Brindle Technical Logging Inc., a small company registered out of Mossyrock.
