The grand opening of a new library branch in Hawks Prairie is set for 10 a.m. Feb. 18, Timberland Regional Library announced.

The so-called Lucky Day library is the second of its kind for Timberland Regional Library, which opened a similar branch in June at the Capital Mall in west Olympia. Both offer the newest and most in-demand books and movies with a layout designed for quick browsing and computer use.

It is a three-year pilot project that brings library services to an under-served area and will provide access to Wi-Fi, computers, and printing/scanning/faxing services, which are all free with a Timberland Regional Library card.

Lacey Mayor Andy Ryder and Timberland Regional Library Deputy Director Kendra Jones plan to speak at the event, which will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the site at 8205 Martin Way Suite B, in the Hawks Prairie Shopping Center on the southwest corner of Marvin Road and Martin Way.

Following the grand opening, the library branch will be open 11-7 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 10-6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Masks are required.
