Pacific County man killed in head-on U.S. 101 collision has been identified

A man who was killed in a head-on collision in Pacific County last week has been identified, according to Washington State Patrol.

William D. Hobley, 69, of South Bend, died at the scene.

About 12:40 p.m. Feb. 24, Hobley was headed north in his truck on U.S. 101 at milepost 33, while an Elma man was headed south in his car.

Troopers say Hobley crossed into the southbound lanes and crashed into the Elma resident.

The 62-year-old man was not injured, according to State Patrol.
