Lacey man falls to his death from bridge in Olympia, State Patrol says

A 42-year-old Lacey man fell to his death overnight Friday, according to Washington State Patrol. About 12:20 a.m. Friday, troopers were dispatched to a southbound I-5 location underneath the Capitol Boulevard bridge in Olympia. A 42-year-old Lacey man fell to his death overnight Friday, according to Washington State Patrol.

About 12:20 a.m. Friday, troopers were dispatched to a southbound I-5 location underneath the Capitol Boulevard bridge in Olympia.

The man was found on the right shoulder of the freeway, Trooper Robert Reyer said.

A trooper at the scene began resuscitation efforts on the man, then fire crews took over when they arrived on scene. The man was pronounced dead about 12:50 a.m., Reyer said.

Southbound traffic was not significantly delayed, he said.

The man’s shoes were found on the bridge, Reyer added.
