A 27-year-old man fell from the second floor at MultiCare Capital Medical Center Monday afternoon, according to Olympia police, fire and hospital officials.

Police were dispatched to the west Olympia hospital at 3900 Capital Mall Drive SW about 1 p.m. Monday, Lt. Paul Lower said.

The man broke a window and jumped onto the portico over the main entrance to the hospital. He then tried to climb down and fell, MultiCare spokeswoman Holly Harvey said Tuesday afternoon.

Olympia Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Bossard said the man was not seriously injured.

Harvey said the man was initially treated at Capital Medical Center, then taken to Tacoma General Hospital.
