The vendor owned and operated farmers market in downtown Olympia will return to its “high season” starting April 1, meaning patrons can shop for local produce, art and more from Thursday through Sunday.

The market will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Thursdays will be Senior Day where anyone 55 and older receives a discount. The announcement was made by the Farmers Market board on Friday.

The market will continue to be open every Saturday in March from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

According to a press release, April marks the beginning of the growing season in Washington. Extending the market’s operating days will allow more vendors to sell produce and items at peak season.

The market has been in operation since 1975 and sees more than 100 vendors from the South Puget Sound region, according to the release.
