Man died of medical emergency before vehicle crashed on Pacific Avenue near Lacey

A 76-year-old Lacey man died of a medical emergency before his car crashed in the Lacey area last week, according to the Thurston County Coroner.

About 11:15 a.m. April 6, Robert McGettrick was driving in the 6900 block of Pacific Avenue when he suffered a cardiac-related emergency, Coroner Gary Warnock said. McGettrick’s vehicle then hit some cars as well as a house.

The man died at the scene as a result of the medical emergency, not because of the collision, Warnock said.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident, but a spokesman could not be reached Tuesday.
