Lacey to receive $500,000 in federal funding for Veterans Services Hub
The Lacey Veterans Services Hub will receive $500,000 in federal funding, the city announced.
The funding will be used to install an elevator and make other accessibility upgrades for veterans with disabilities, as well as to purchase tablet computers and software systems that will make it easier for veterans to connect with services, Lacey Mayor Andy Ryder said.
In 2019, 7,508 client appointments were booked at the facility. Services include assistance with VA benefits, housing, employment, nutrition, education, health care, mental health and legal aid.
All services are provided free and no veteran is turned away.
The city also recently upgraded and expanded the Hub from 1,200 square feet to more than 8,000 square feet to meet demand from area veterans.
