Want to learn more about electric vehicles? Head to Olympia High School this weekend

The Washington State chapter of the Sierra Club is inviting the public to an electric vehicle education event on Saturday at Olympia High School, where people can learn how the cars work and see a new electric school bus.

The event, titled “Drive Electric Earth Day EV Show,” will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Olympia High School. The event will focus on the transition to electric and how it serves the environment.

The Sierra Club, a nonprofit environmental organization, will host electric vehicle owners who will talk about what it’s like to own an EV. As of Monday, organizers expected more than two dozen different models of cars to be on display along with their owners.

The Olympia School District will show the public the district’s new electric school bus, and explain how other schools can make the transition to more green infrastructure.

There are several sponsors for the event, including the Thurston Climate Action Team and the high school’s climate action club. The event will be in the faculty parking lot on the southwest side of the school at 1302 North St. SE.
