Olympia sandwich shop near Capitol ransacked early Friday

An Olympia Subway sandwich shop near the Capitol Campus was ransacked early Friday, according to police.

Sometime between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m., two men entered the business by breaking a south side window with a large rock. They later exited through a door that the business manager found ajar Friday morning, Lt. Paul Lower said.

Inside, the business manager was confronted by a mess and missing money. All kinds of products had been thrown throughout the interior, including food.

Security cameras also were ripped from the ceiling, a cash register was smashed open and a large safe was dislodged but not broken into, he said.

Cookie dough was smeared across a counter top and other food products were destroyed, he said.

Police were able to recover some images from the damaged video cameras, which show two men dressed in mostly dark clothes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
