Two separate crashes block Martin Way at Hensley Street Tuesday evening

Lacey firefighters responded to two collisions near the intersection of Martin Way East and Hensley Street Northeast Tuesday evening.

The first crash occurred about 9:30 p.m. and involved a car and motorcycle, according to social media posts by Lacey Fire District 3. First responders transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital in serious condition, according to the fire district.

Eastbound lanes were completely blocked as the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office investigated, according to fire officials.

Fire crews returned to the same area for a second serious collision at 11:08 p.m. when two cars collided and four people were injured, the fire district said.

One patient was airlifted from the scene, two were transported by fire department medic units and the fourth was transported by another aid unit, according to fire officials.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office investigated the second collision. After midnight, the Sheriff’s Office shared an image from the scene on social media and advised the public the intersection was closed.

The image showed a dark-colored vehicle with extensive front damage and white truck laying on its left side.

The Olympian has requested more information about the collisions from Lacey Fire District 3 and the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
