Olympia police close Pacific Avenue near Lilly Road after fatal motorcycle crash

Update: Pacific Avenue reopened to traffic about 1 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.

Pacific Avenue near Lilly Road in Olympia is closed to traffic following a fatal crash involving a motorcycle, according to police.

About 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, a motorcyclist crashed in the 3700 block of Pacific Avenue Southeast, Lt. Paul Lower said. Witnesses at the scene tried to resuscitate the man, but he died at the scene, Lower said.

No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the wreck, he said.

Pacific Avenue could be closed for a couple of hours. Motorists are advised to choose alternate routes.
