A 50-year-old Mason County woman was injured Saturday evening and taken to an area hospital after a 2-car collision near the Port of Shelton, according to Washington State Patrol.

About 7 p.m. Saturday, the Hoodsport woman was headed north on U.S. 101 at East Shelton Springs Road. Meanwhile, a 19-year-old Union woman was leaving the parking lot of an area business.

Troopers say the 19-year-old failed to yield to oncoming traffic and the Hoodsport woman crashed into her car, then rolled over, the vehicle coming to a stop on the driver’s side.

Despite not wearing a seat belt, the Union woman wasn’t hurt, according to State Patrol.

The Hoodsport woman was injured and taken to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
