Motorcyclist dies in overnight wreck in Lacey

A man thought to be in his late 40s has died after he crashed his motorcycle in Lacey early Wednesday, according to police.

About 1:50 a.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of Carpenter Road Southeast after a report of a resident hearing a motorcycle, followed by a “boom” sound, which was presumably the sound of the crash, Sgt. Shannon Barnes said.

The man was headed south on Carpenter Road at the time of the crash, and was reportedly unconscious following it, she said.

The Lacey police major accident investigative team responded to the wreck, Barnes said.
