3 Olympia authors are finalists for Washington Book Awards

Three Olympia authors are among the 39 finalists in eight categories for the 2022 Washington Book Awards, the Washington Center for the Book and Seattle Public Library announced Tuesday.

Winners will be announced Sept. 13.

The Olympia finalists and their categories:

Biography/memoir: “The Other Mothers: Two Women’s Journey to Find the Family That Was Always Theirs,” by Jennifer Berney.

Youth picture books: “1, 2, 3 Salish Sea: A Pacific Northwest Counting Book,” written and illustrated by Nikki McClure.

Youth picture books: “Something Good,” illustrated by Corinna Luyken of Olympia; written by Marcy Campbell.

This is the 56th year of the program, which was previously known as the Governor’s Writers Awards.
