Man pulled from Thurston County lake Saturday afternoon in critical condition
A 28-year-old swimmer at a south Thurston County lake on Saturday afternoon was pulled out after going under, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
About 5 p.m. Saturday, Sheriff’s Office deputies and members of a dive rescue team were dispatched to Millersylvania State Park, which is on the shore of Deep Lake.
The man was swimming in the lake with family and friends when he suddenly did not resurface.
Dive rescue team members entered the water and located the man within about 5 minutes, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Paramedics then began life-saving efforts before he was transported to an area hospital.
Sgt. Chris Packard said Sunday the man was alive, but in an intensive care unit in critical condition.
