Fire in Shelton damages home Thursday night

Central Mason Fire & EMS responded to a house fire late Thursday night in Shelton. No one was hurt, but the home sustained some damage.

According to a news release from the fire department, the fire was reported at 10:27 p.m. Thursday on Sycamore Court. It started in a bedroom of the older single-family home. A single occupant and her dog were able to escape without any injuries.

Crews were able to keep the fire contained to the bedroom and extinguish it. It caused about $20,000 in damages. The cause is under investigation, according to the release.

Central Mason Fire was assisted by the Shelton Police Department, Mason County Sheriff’s Office and Mason County PUD #3.
