Lacey woman Young An was found safe by police early Monday morning and her husband is now in custody.

Young was found about 1:45 a.m. Monday, two blocks from where she went missing, Washington State Patrol Trooper Robert Reyer said. Lacey police Sgt. Shannon Barnes added that she had non-life-threatening injuries but was taken to an area hospital to be evaluated.

WSP sent out an alert at about 5 p.m. Sunday after Lacey Police were dispatched earlier in the day to a domestic violence situation near 37th and College Street in Lacey.

When police arrived they found her phone, but Young, 42, and her husband Chae, 53, were gone. State patrol believed Young was taken by her husband by force.

A 911 caller reported seeing Chae’s vehicle on the Chehalis Western Trail early Monday morning. Police arrived at around 8 a.m. and found and arrested Chae without incident.

The Olympian typically does not name victims or crime suspects before they appear in court, but in this case both were previously identified as part of a missing persons search.
