A man in his 40s was arrested Saturday night on suspicion of assault in the second degree after he allegedly stabbed another man in the chest, according to the Lacey Police Department.
Following the incident, the victim, thought to be 36, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Sgt. Jaime Newcomb said Sunday.
The suspect was booked into the Thurston County Jail.
Lacey police were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 5500 block of College Loop Southeast about 8:30 p.m. Saturday following a report of an assault, Newcomb said.

Once police arrived, they found the victim with a stab wound in his upper abdomen. Information about the weapon was not immediately available.
The suspect was later found at another apartment in the same complex. The two men knew each other, Newcomb said.
The incident began with a verbal altercation, which escalated into a fight and then the alleged stabbing, he said.
